As Head of Design at the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside University (Hull Campus), Eleanor transformed the singular Graphic Design Course into a dynamic portfolio of Design Studies, incorporating several new programs: TV & Film Design, Illustration, Interactive Design, Graphic Design and Animation. She successfully led Design through the Quality Assurance  Audit Review,  enhanced the research  potential  of Design, increased the student population by 400% and initiated firm links with the creative industries.


Within four years of this enjoyable and exciting position, Eleanor moved to Australia as she was invited to become Head of the Australian Centre of Arts & Technology at the Australian National University.

Head of Printmaking 1988 - 1997

Eleanor became Head of Printmaking at the Hull School of Art & Design having completed her three year research fellowship in printmaking at Nottingham Trent University. During her extensive period as Senior Lecturer / Head of Printmaking, Eleanor played a major contribution to the education excellence of printmaking practice and new technologies, actively engaging in debate during which.. “what do you think is print” was an interesting theoretical challenge, nationally. Hence the initiative to produce the International 5th Humberside Printmaking Competition & Touring Exhibition.  Other professional contributions included directing major public arts events such as TRAILBLAZE and exhibiting her own work.
